C1/C2 recap on an M645 with positive first checks and cold-validation planned.

Symptomes

• The release cycle stayed stuck with the curtain open and mirror raised.
• Battery check was weak while the body was in this intermediate state.
• Battery check sometimes came back suddenly, and the cycle then completed.

Diagnostic

The retained hypothesis was a failure or leakage of C2, possibly also C1, with behavior already known on this camera family. Visual inspection of C2 did not provide a decisive clue, but the symptom was typical enough to justify replacement.

Actions

• Opened the PCB side
• Replacement of C2
• Replacement of C1
• Removed three screws to lift the PCB slightly and access the area
• Test series after recap and then after reassembly

Resultat

After closing the body, about fifty releases were made with correct operation. An additional cold check remains planned to confirm stability over time.

A retenir

• A weak and then suddenly normal battery check, combined with a stuck cycle, remains a good clue for a capacitor problem.
• No clear visual clue on C2 does not rule out replacement if the symptom strongly matches the known case.
• Replacing C1 and C2 together can be more rational than treating only one of the two capacitors.
